TITANIA Bakery 91 Years of Flavor in Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki koulouri, country-style pies, croissants, tsoureki, sweet treats and, of course, great coffee. TITANIA Bakery has everything you need for a daily stop for breakfast, a snack or a little treat in the middle of the day. Variety, freshness and carefully chosen ingredients are at the heart of what they do, while catering services and delivery through efood and Wolt take the experience beyond the shop. Behind it all is a family business with 91 years in Thessaloniki, one that has kept evolving without straying from what it does best: serving up flavors every day that are worth trying.
Since 1935 in Thessaloniki
The TITANIA story begins in 1935, when Dimitris Chatziioannidis started a small family business, one of the city’s first bakeries. Fresh bread and koulouri (the city’s famous sesame bread ring) quickly became part of the neighborhood routine, with street vendors stopping by every morning to pick up the koulouria they’d sell around Thessaloniki.
Two years later, a happy accident turned into a defining moment for the business. On Good Friday 1937, Dimitris forgot to add yeast to the dough. The result? A different, crunchy Thessaloniki koulouri with sesame.

A groundbreaking business move
Instead of tossing the new product, Dimitris spotted its potential. His offer to the street vendors was simple: “Take them, sell them, and whatever’s left, I’ll take back.”
For its time, it was a smart move. Vendors could try the new koulouri without the risk of unsold stock, while he showed, in practice, how much he believed in its quality and appeal. The public proved his business instinct right. The crunchy koulouri won people over fast and became a signature product of the family.
Three generations of evolution
In 1975, Nikolas, Dimitris’s son, took over, expanding production to include more breads, croissants and tsourekia.
In 2013, the third generation, Dimitris and Thomas, stepped in to bring the family business into the modern era. TITANIA Bakery has grown into a modern destination, keeping tradition and quality at the core of its identity.

Plenty of choices, any time of day
At TITANIA Bakery, the stars of the show are the crunchy, fluffy koulouria, along with versions topped with tahini, cream cheese or corn. The lineup continues with cold sandwiches and country-style pies, the standout being the classic village cheese pie.
In the display case you’ll also find puff pastries, croissants, tsourekia and cakes, plus seasonal treats like mini apple pies, tahini pies and chocolatey goodies. Coffee, juice and smoothies round out the menu for breakfast, a snack or a relaxed break during the day.

Quality in the shop and beyond
Carefully chosen ingredients, freshness and modern food safety and hygiene standards are constant priorities at TITANIA Bakery. Warm, friendly service is also a big part of the experience.
TITANIA Bakery products are also available through efood and Wolt. The bakery also offers catering for events, businesses, companies and hotels, with options for meetings, brunch and lunch breaks.

90 years and counting
From 1935 to today, three generations have shaped TITANIA Bakery, always keeping a good product at the center. From a groundbreaking business move in 1937 to the modern bakery of today, the philosophy hasn’t changed: quality, freshness and flavor.
